Foreshore Management Plan - Dalyellup

The Shire of Capel has engaged Water Technology to prepare a Foreshore Management Plan (FMP) for the Dalyellup coast and foreshore reserve in an effort to understand the challenges, hazards and potential issues affecting the area. The FMP will outline management options for the those elements previously identified in the Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP) prepared for the area.

The CHRMAP was a collaborative project between the Peron Naturaliste Partnership (PNP) and selected member local governments including the City of Bunbury and Shires of Capel, Dardanup and Harvey, in partnership with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and Southern Ports Authority to understand how coastal changes, from the Capel to Leschenault coastline, can be best managed into the future.

The Foreshore Management Plan for Dalyellup will directly address the area in question and outline various management options moving forward. There will be community consultation and collaboration throughout this project, as the Shire seeks to actively engage all stakeholders and explore solutions to keep the area safe, environmentally and ecologically protected and to address issues associated with climate in the Foreshore Management Plan.
